Penghana offers old world hospitality in a tranquil, elegant environment with 21st century comforts. To stay in this National Trust property is an experience in its own right.

Penghana is not a hotel with 24-hour reception. In fact, we don’t even have a reception desk. It is a private residence that is fully accredited as a hosted accommodation venue.

When you call Penghana you actually get to speak to the owners of the business. As we don’t want you to miss out on the iconic award-winning experiences, we happily share our knowledge of what to see and do and we can also make a booking for you.

We personally welcome you at the front door when you arrive. We settle you into your accommodation. We don’t leave a key in a box, and there’s no codes or hand-scribbled notes.

Our luxurious master suite has a separate dressing room, private sitting area and ensuite and offers spectacular views over Queenstown towards ount Owen

Penghana’s original upstairs VIP suite overlooks the township of Queenstown. It offers a bedroom with two queen beds, separate bathroom and toilet and private sitting room, which can be used to accommodate another person.

The Huxley is a queen room with ensuite, including a bath, and striking black and white style.

The Sedgewick is a comfortable queen room with ensuite, ideal for a solo traveller or couple.

Penghana offers a two-bedroom, fully self-contained apartment on the ground floor, suitable for 4 adults.

The Studio Bedsit at Penghana is a budget style self-contained ground floor studio room

Whichever option you choose, you can be assured of a good night’s sleep in extremely comfortable beds. You’ll find creature comforts such as plunger coffee, homemade cake, bath robes and a complimentary chauffeur service to/from dinner. Guests staying in our ensuite rooms enjoy the ambience of our stately dining room when they come downstairs for their silver service home cooked breakfast.

All guests have access to the both the upstairs and downstairs formal lounges. The upstairs lounge has a selection of board games, a library of books and large selection of movies and TV shows on DVD. In the downstairs lounge, why not enjoy a drink from our licensed wine bar which features Tasmanian wines, craft beers and even Penghana’s own house wines.

PARKING

Penghana has ample safe, free onsite parking and undercover space to safely accommodate motor bikes and bicycles.

We have a secure storage and work area for mountain bikes.

ELECTRIC VEHICLES

There is a public charging station in the car park which services the carpark adjacent to the nearby Queenstown Station. At Penghana we have an outdoor power point available for overnight charging of guests’ electric cars.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available for guests throughout Penghana.

WHOLE OF VENUE HIRE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

The layout of the house is perfect for friends or family groups, special events, small conferences, meetings, corporate retreats, exhibitions and ‘not quite eloping’ weddings, when you book for up to 12 adults with all the organisation done for you.
