Penghana’s self-contained apartment is a comfortable ground floor suite at the rear of the house, suitable for up to 4 adults. It is ideal for guests who don’t want to use the stairs to our ensuite bedrooms in the main house.
The apartment is well appointed, has good water pressure and heating in the open plan area, and is ideal for relaxing after a day of adventure hiking, walking, rafting, driving or sightseeing in Tasmania’s Western Wilderness. There is fast Wi-Fi and Netflix available on the TV.
It has a separate entrance, undercover parking with an area for drying hiking gear, open plan kitchen/dining/living space and its own laundry, two bedrooms (one with queen bed, one with two king singles). A sofa bed in the lounge area provides additional sleeping space. The bathroom has a spacious, easy access shower. There is a separate toilet.
The kitchenette has a full-size fridge, bench-top oven with hot plates, microwave, sandwich maker, stick blender/mixer, coffee plunger, rice cooker, chopsticks and eggcups.
Electric blankets, micro flannel sheets, wool doonas, plenty of towels and bath robes are provided. While the apartment does not offer a spectacular view, it does offer peace and quiet, with no road traffic noise.
Our garden space, BBQ facilities, recreational room, licensed bar in the main house are also accessible to guests.
There is a portable shower stool and raised toilet seat, but the space does NOT have complete disability/wheelchair access and because of its heritage status, cannot be altered. Mobility to negotiate ‘two only’ steps is needed.
The self-contained apartment is available for a minimum stay of two nights.
This space is not suited to persons under 18 years, or pets.
