Booking direct on a property’s official website gives you the opportunity to speak to or contact the owner directly and chat about any specific requirements you might have. For example, you might have an allergy to wool or feathers. You might want to know what tea/coffee options are provided, if there are extra pillows or what guest toiletries are included. A foreign call centre operator won’t have that information and not because we don’t supply it ….. giving ‘small details’ are not as important as taking the next call.
Here at Penghana Bed & Breakfast, we can chat through any personal preferences or needs you might have and address them before you arrive. It’s called ‘personal service’. This also means you re greeted at the front door and given a ‘welcome walk’ so you know where everything is. No keys in a box with a pin number or loads of printed instuctions here!
We know from our own travel experiences, it can be daunting putting together an itinerary and making sure you capture ‘the best of the best’ tourist experiences, history, scenery, dining and value for money. We trust our local knowledge of what to see/do, how to maximise your time in our region whilst still enjoying some down time, gives you confidence the planning you are undertaking, is in fact on the right track.
Over the past 5 years we’ve found many guests who come to the Western Wilds of Tasmania have every intention of just popping on the Wilderness Railway or Cruise and are extremely disappointed to find either/or is booked out. They are amazed when we tell them the many thousands of people who come here every year. We can avoid such disappointments and book these tours, and others, for you.
As this iconic house and Queenstown have an important place in Australia’s history, many of our guests come because they grew up here and always had a fascination about ‘the house on the hill’ and now want to satisfy that curiousity as they never had the privledge of stepping through the front door. Many want that ‘old world’ charm, silver service experience and just being spoilt.
Whether it’s your first or fifth visit to the Western Wilds of Tasmania, and whether or not you have a connection to Queenstown, and Penghana in particular, we do our best to share our acquired knowledge and make your stay with us not only all you expect, but much, much more. Booking through a third party (Online Travel Agent), does not provide the opportunity for such conversations to be had or the person at the other end of the phone having the ability to go that extra mile for you.
Lastly the price you pay. Not only does 100% of your money go to a locally owned business and stay in the country, but because there is no commissions paid to anyone, your booking rate will be more competitive than ‘rack rate’.
